humans and every dog owner can tell at least one
anecdote about the cleverness of their pooch. In recent
years psychology has focused on the scientific study of the cognitive abilities of dogs
and also on dog-human interaction & communication. This fascinating talk will give an
opportunity to hear about some of the surprising findings in this interesting field.

Set in 1902, become embroiled in a dastardly murder
as you join the hunt for reputedly the largest
diamond in the world, The Khetys Eye. As you sit
inside the Kings Chamber in the tomb of the Pharaoh
known as Khety, witness the events which lead up to
and include the murder of one of the characters.
Cross-examine the surviving suspects, inspect the clues. Then report on who did it, how
and the reasons why. Morse or Miss Marple could do it, can you?
Tickets £32.50 to include a 3 course meal

One of the leading international concert organists of his
generation, D’Arcy has been rightly described in the press as “The
Nureyev of organists”; his extraordinary pedal technique is famous
and he has distinguished himself as one of the finest organists this
country has produced. Acclaimed for his rare élan, virtuosity and
independent spirit, he will perform a typically varied, colourful and
thrilling programme - including some works specifically to show
off the remarkable Welte organ to its full glory.

The members of Bill Posters are all experienced entertainers fired
by the great British tradition of musical lunacy. This distinguished
ensemble, which includes former members of The Bonzo Dog
Band, The Bob Kerr Whoopee Band and The Temperance Seven,
was formed in 1983 with the prime aim of having fun with
music. Owing much to the exuberance of Spike Jones and the
nostalgia of the 1930’s showbands, their performance majors on
novelty numbers and musical mayhem. They play anything and everything, any style of music
that can be sent up, parodied or even (yes on occasion) played seriously. There are classical
overtures and ‘songs from the shows’ mixed with traditional jazz, rock ‘n’ roll and dance
music. Throw in ‘Oh Play To Me Gypsy’ accompanied by Strohviol and violin, music hall
favourites with audience participation and Russian melodies played on accordion and spoons
and you’re beginning to get the idea.
Tickets £15.00. Concessions £13.00

fairy, Countess and a French King...

The Pantiles Players started presenting 4 performances of their summer open-air play at
Salomons in 2007, the week after their annual run on The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells.
Following 58 years of open-air theatre on The Pantiles, The Players are no longer able to
perform on the bandstand due to the increasing extraneous noise. From 2010 The
Players are transferring all their performances of the annual summer show to Salomons.
