A Baby Welcoming Ceremony is a very special way of celebrating the birth or adoption of your child and welcoming the new arrival into your family. These baby welcoming ceremonies are an opportunity to declare, before family and friends, your promise to be as good a parent as you can and for your adult friends or relatives to confirm their special relationship with your child. It is a unique occasion for everyone to feel involved as they pledge their love and support for your child's future development and well being.
A Baby Welcoming Ceremony is a secular ceremony and does not include any religious references. Similarly it is not an official ceremony and its meaning is what you as a parent wish to bring to it. It is important that parents, family and friends agree to provide a healthy and safe environment within which a child can be supported and grow.
